After tourism… “The Baath Party” turns to trade… “to prevent nepotism and corruption”

“Syrian Trade” contracted with the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party to invest an old factory in the Sabboura area.
And the Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Amr Salem, justified through his account on “Facebook” that “Syrian Trade” was using a small part of the factory for the semi-manual production of some cans and bottles under the “Ashtar” brand owned by “Syrian Trade”.
Salem explained that the ministry will offer the factory for partnership and re-equip it according to the highest specifications, and it will be auctioned for those who wish and possess the required material capacity and technical competence.
Salem said that the ministry is in the process of offering each building or investment hall to a public auction for partnership or investment, and it is given to those who pay the highest price, provided that it is accompanied by a technical presentation showing the operation and its economic feasibility.
Salem considered that the purpose of this new methodology is to invest the ministry’s unequipped real estate to be halls for selling its materials, and this approach will be applied to all real estate of the ministry and the institution “to preserve public money and prevent favoritism and corruption,” Salem said.
The Baath Party had announced a few days ago the opening of the “City of Jasmine” in Damascus as the party’s first investment in the tourism field, at a cost of 8 billion Syrian pounds.
A member of the central leadership of the Ba’ath Party, Ammar al-Sibai, said in a press statement that the project is the result of cooperation between the Ba’ath Party and the private sector in the country, where the private sector acts as a primary partner, noting that tourism is an important part of the economic cycle to generate job opportunities and generate income.
Al-Sibai indicated the continuation of cooperation in this field, and that work on future projects is already underway in cooperation between the central leadership of the party and the public and commercial sectors.
The Baath Party had previously started its investments in the private university education sector by opening the Al-Sham Private University in 2013, which includes 10 university colleges.
