An Arab official reveals to “Hashtag” the necessary steps for digital transformation in Syria

The Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for E-Commerce, Major General Osama Saudi, said that the problems that Egypt has experienced in reaching the digital transformation system are the same that Syria is suffering from now, whether in terms of infrastructure or the lack of specialized cadres.
In statements to Hashtag, Saudi revealed that the Egyptian state was working on training cadres and sending missions abroad during the period of completion of the communications and internet infrastructure.
Beginning problems
A Saudi confirmed that Egypt has reached an advanced stage in this field, and the beginning was after President El-Sisi took office about seven years ago.
He pointed out that during the first year of starting this project, many problems arose, and later on, things started to get easier.
And Saudi indicated that in order to attract expertise to the mother country, they must be given appropriate compensation in return to encourage them and benefit from their expertise, and this matter is linked if the country is qualified for this matter.
Lawmaking
Regarding the digital transformation system, Saudi explained that it is an integrated system that needs mechanisms to work, the most important of which is the availability of a huge financial resource in order to create infrastructure and qualified cadres.
It also requires the existence of legislation and the enactment of laws to regulate it, so that the business process is not just creating a website and another that competes with it, which leads to creating a state of chaos due to individuality.

justifications
Saudi pointed out that there are many justifications for Syria for not enacting laws until now due to the war’s circumstances and the lack of resources, whether human or material, and also affected by the destruction of its infrastructure during the war period.
Starting
The work of the regional office of the Arab Federation of Electronic Commerce in Syria was launched the day before yesterday within the framework of the “HITEC” exhibition for communications and technology technologies.
The regional office in Syria is the first to be opened outside Egypt.
