Arnous promises: “Youth housing” in Dimas will not stop until it is ready

The Prime Minister promised that the youth housing project in the Dimas area in Damascus countryside would not stop “at all until it becomes an urban community occupied by all the beneficiaries, who number 26,000 families.”
In a statement to reporters following a tour of the project, Arnous said that “despite the circumstances of the war and the imposed siege, the state is still determined to finish the project as soon as possible.”
According to a media brief published by the presidency’s page, Arnous indicated that “what the subscribers pay so far does not exceed 8,000 Syrian pounds per month.”
He added that “a large part of the buildings have entered the stage of completion, and this issue requires everyone to cooperate to bring the project to its conclusion quickly.”
The Minister of Public Works and Housing Suhail Abdel Latif said that the Dimas project is the last stage of the youth housing program for Damascus and Rural Damascus for subscribers (14,000 apartments for subscribers and 12,000 apartments for expropriated lands).
He added that more than 2,000 subscribers have been allocated so far, and that business “is progressing at a good pace despite the current circumstances.”
Abdul Latif announced that there is determination to complete the project “as soon as possible”, and that it is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
