Shops and brands are preparing to display winter clothes in their stores after the summer season officially ends, and citizens need to buy winter clothes.
Despite the increase in the prices of winter clothes last year, this rise started early and the pretext is always “the rise in the dollar exchange rate”, and it is no secret to anyone that the stagnation in the purchasing movement, and the fears experienced by Damascus merchants about their business, if this recession continues.
During”hashtag” tour of one of the markets of the capital, Damascus, and some pages specialized in selling clothes after putting up winter clothes, it was found that the prices of women’s jackets ranged from 100 to 150 thousand Syrian pounds, the second category ranged from 50 to 75 thousand Syrian pounds, and the third type ranged from 30 to 40 thousand Syrian pounds.
The price of women’s boots ranged from 40 to 75 thousand Syrian pounds, while the price of the women’s blouse ranged from 60 thousand to 80 thousand pounds, and the price of women’s pajamas was about 90,000 Syrian pounds.
As for men’s clothing, the price of a men’s jacket ranges between 100,000 and 200,000 pounds, a men’s sweater starts at 50,000 pounds, and the price of men’s shoes starts from 80,000 pounds, while the cost of winter clothes for one child ranges between 100 and 150,000 pounds.
The industrialist and member of the Syrian Exporters Union for the manufacture of ready-made clothes, Samer Rabatah, had revealed that the prices of winter clothes will be approximately the same as last year, and that prices do not rise every year, but the purchasing power of the citizen is weak. Its price is cheaper than it used to be.
Rabatah stressed that when touring the market and seeing clothes at high prices, citizens should make sure of the type of fabric used in their manufacture, pointing out that movement within the markets is very light during the current period.
