Damascus Countryside Fuel Department: There is no shortage of fuel… Rather, there is a rationalization for emergencies

A member of the Executive Office for the fuel sector in the governorate of Damascus countryside, Raydan al-Sheikh, explained in a special statement to “Hashtag” that there is no shortage of fuel quantities in the governorate, but rather there are rationalization processes for fuel, to prepare for any emergency as a result of the current surrounding conditions.
Pointing out that this rationalization includes a large percentage of sectors, whether public or private, with the exception of vital sectors “such as hospitals, bakeries…etc.”
Al-Sheikh indicated that the rationalization rate is not much, as evidenced by this by saying that the transport sector in the governorate is currently provided with ten requests per day, and no quantity has been reduced for service drivers for the means of transport, knowing that before “rationalization” it ranged between 13-16 requests.
Pointing out that the allocations of diesel fuel for heating to citizens in the governorate have not been stopped, but the number of filling requests has been reduced. Currently, there is between one request to two requests per day, stressing that all citizens of the governorate will receive their allocations of diesel for heating. Note that the distribution rate of the second batch of heating oil to date has reached 30%.
It is noteworthy that the country is witnessing an unprecedented transportation crisis, and many state institutions have stopped the transportation service designated to transport their workers due to the lack of diesel fuel for the fleet of cars in these institutions.
