Damascus Governorate is looking for an “international standards investment” for zoo

Damascus Governorate

Damascus Governorate is seeking to launch a project aimed at investing the Al-Adawi Zoo “according to international standards”.
According to “Al-Watan” newspaper, “the governorate revealed a project to offer the zoo in the Al-Adawi area for investment, as part of the total investment projects planned for the city.”
The newspaper quoted the director of property in the governorate, “Hossam El-Din Saffour,” as saying that “work is underway to put forward a project to develop the zoo, by announcing the investment of the park’s site located on the Al-Adawy highway.”
Saffour added that “the project will secure new types of animals and reduce the burdens and expenses of the province resulting from caring for the animals, so that they are rehabilitated, according to international standards at the investor’s expense.”
In 2019, Damascus Governorate rejected a project to develop the zoo in Al-Adawi, which was submitted by an animal breeder, worth 4 billion Syrian pounds.
