Damascus University retracts the decision to expel a student because of (Post)

Masters student Karam Suleiman said that his problem ended before it reached the final session in the judiciary, which was dedicated to pronounce the final judgment, after he was dismissed from the university on (4-11-2021) on the background of publishing a post to him on Facebook in which he said, “Welcome, Mr. President … a speech The next section, please, be without attendance so that we can focus. Thank you.”
Suleiman said that he spent all this time trying to solve the issue by legal means and calmly, but to no avail.
Until the 15th of this month, a decision was issued by the Presidency of Damascus University “not to punish the student, based on the study presented by the Security Committee.”
Suleiman posted on his Facebook page:
“I am a citizen with Syrian citizenship. One of my basic rights as a human being is education, and also one of my basic rights is that I have the freedom to express my opinion, address living issues and criticize mistakes as long as I do not offend anyone’s dignity, and my right to criticism and expression of opinion does not cancel my right to education. vice versa”.
He thanked all those concerned with the university or those interested and sympathetic to it, who contributed to resolving the issue.
The student hoped that what happened with him would be the beginning of preventing such problems, “and removing the right to education from all problems of expressing opinion, and that such issues remain within the competent authorities, and that such decisions are issued in a right, legal and judicial manner and not in an arbitrary manner and based on malicious reports. “
The head of the construction movement, Anas Judeh, criticized the method of resolving the issue, and said that it indicates the existence of a deep problem at the level of decision-making in most of the administrative and executive joints, and constitutes an example of how to make a decision and retract it on more than one legal, economic and administrative level. And that this method of dealing has become a recurring model. It expresses the ease of making decisions that may have a fateful impact on people’s lives and radically modify them later, perhaps because the case owner was able to reach higher circles in decision-making, which is not available to the general public.
He added that this situation is not only caused by administrative and bureaucratic procedures, but rather by the absence of a general policy that determines the country’s interim path or to bid for it if it exists, as well as the loss of wisdom and insight among those appointed in decision-making centers.
