Director of the General Authority for Forensic Medicine, Dr. Zaher Hajjo, stated that, according to the latest statistics from September 12 to today, 147 deaths were recorded, most of them as a result of traffic accidents, with a rate of 41 accidents, 21 killings, 15 burning cases, 7 drowning cases, 7 electrocution cases. and 7 suicides.
This statistic came after the repeated incidents of murder and suicide by using bombs during the week. Hajjo said in exclusive statements to “Hashtag”, that this phenomenon is transient and will not be repeated, as there is no need to fear that it will become common.
The Director of the General Authority for Forensic Medicine confirmed that the Syrian society does not accept such incidents, and so far we have not reached in Syria the concept of “organized crime” through the use of bombs.
Hence, the intensification of talking about these topics on social media and the media, could lead to the spread of the idea and the number of cases, so it is necessary to send messages to reduce them carefully through the media and social networking sites.
Hajjo explained that the cases of deaths recorded in Syria in this scale are very few, and most of the deaths in disputes are the result of gunshot wounds.
The Ministry of Interior revealed a new tragic killing incident in the country, in Damascus, where a woman died and her mother, sister and seven other people were injured, as a result of being hit by shrapnel of a bomb that a man threw in front of his father-in-law’s house in the “Nahr Aisha – Bayader Nader” area due to family disputes among them.
In the details mentioned by the Ministry of Interior’s page, Muhammad Ali H, born in 1979, threw a bomb in front of his wife’s family’s house following a dispute between him and his wife and her mother, which led to the death of his wife and the injury of her sister and mother and seven people who were in the area, and then he attempted suicide, noting that The injured were transferred to Al-Mujtahid Hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
This killing is the third of its kind that occurs for family reasons in less than a week. Yesterday, Lattakia governorate witnessed a family dispute over the borders of agricultural land, which resulted in Mohsen A. killing his brother Habib and his wife’s sister Manal. A. Then he committed suicide with a hunting rifle.
This is happening at a time when the Syrians are still busy with the case of the murder of lawyer Mulhem and his brother at the hands of their sister’s ex-husband, who detonated a bomb in front of the court in Tartous last Thursday.
What is remarkable about the three incidents is that the first is that they occurred as a result of family disputes, which leads one to wonder how the family disputes end in such tragic ways, and the second, more serious matter is the use of bombs in two incidents, which prompted some to question whether the bombs were now being sold on “sidewalks” or could Soon to be distributed on the “smart card”.
