Dubai received 3.97 million visitors from all over the world during the first quarter of 2022, achieving an increase of more than 214% compared to the same period of the previous year, in which it recorded 1.27 million visitors, approaching rates before the Corona virus pandemic.
The average hotel occupancy rate during the three months of this year reached 82%, surpassing its counterpart in major international destinations, and ranking first in the world in hotel occupancy rates.
Dubai achieved the largest number of international visitors since the outbreak of the pandemic during this quarter, and hotel rooms achieved an 8% increase in the number of hotel establishments, and 10% in the number of rooms compared to the same period in 2021.
Dubai has been able to win many awards and certificates of appreciation across various levels of the sector, which contributed to raising its reputation as a distinguished global destination, as Dubai ranked first in the world on the list of the best destinations for travelers in the world for 2022, according to TripAdvisor.
It was also able to win the top spot in the ‘City Lovers’ category and 4th in the ‘Food Lovers’ category at the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2022.
Dubai was able to enhance its tourism position and attract large numbers of visitors during the establishment of various global events, led by “Expo 2020 Dubai”, in addition to the “Dubai World Cup”, “World Government Summit”, “Blockchain Week by Binance”, and Gulfood Exhibition”, and others.
