Fighters affiliated with Syrian tribes seize the “Koniko” oil field from American control

On Thursday, the media reported that the sons of the Arab tribes took control of the Koniko oil field in eastern Syria, after violent clashes with gunmen loyal to the US army and charged with protecting it ended with the latter’s withdrawal from it.
“Sputnik” agency said that a group of Arab tribesmen in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor launched a violent attack on an oil field near the “Koniko” natural gas field on Thursday afternoon, which the US military uses as an illegitimate base.
And the agency added that they succeeded in seizing control of the field a while ago, after expelling the protection elements loyal to the American occupation forces from the field.
The agency said that the sons of the Arab tribes in the Al-Ezba area in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor attacked an oil field near the Koniko field and were able to control it after hours of clashes with members of the “SDF” militia who are working to protect the field.
The attack comes in light of the deprivation of the people of the region from the bounties of the oil fields and their theft by the American forces and their loyalists.
A source indicated that a huge military force affiliated with the SDF militia, with the support of the American aircraft, is encircling the oil wells area north of Deir ez-Zor to besiege the tribesmen who took control of the field and restore the oil field from them.
The US military owns about 28 declared military bases in Syria, which are distributed and take the form of a tight cordon that surrounds the oil and gas sources in the east of the country.
The Syrian Oil Ministry revealed earlier that “the American occupation forces and their mercenaries steal up to 66,000 barrels per day from the areas they occupy in eastern Syria out of a total daily production of 3.80 thousand barrels.”
US Army officers and soldiers are active in the export of stolen Syrian oil and natural gas through the illegal crossings in northern and northeastern Syria, in preparation for selling them in the nearby open markets, such as “Iraqi Kurdistan” and other destinations, including the Idlib region, which is occupied by the terrorist “Jabhat al-Nusra” organization, while Syria in general suffers a crisis Suffocating fuel as a result of the Western economic blockade on the country.
