The Director of Education in Damascus Countryside, Maher Faraj, said in a special statement to “Hashtag Syria”, that the distribution of diesel has started in the coldest areas in the governorate at 640,000 liters, pointing out that this quantity is allocated for the first semester of the school year 2021/2022 AD, and its value amounted to about 275 million Syrian pounds.
As for the rest of the educational areas in countryside, the Director of Education indicated that once the distribution of the first batch is completed, the distribution will be completed to include the governorate’s schools in turn, calling on school principals to rationalize consumption, adhere to the regulating instructions and optimal use to ensure a warm winter for all our students, students and teachers.
Faraj pointed out that last year, heating oil was distributed for the first semester, amounting to 800,000 liters, 95 liters per class, for the whole semester.
The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection had raised the price of a liter of industrial and commercial diesel to 1,700 Syrian pounds.
