Hamas condemns Israeli bombing of Syria

The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” condemned the Israeli bombing of Syria, yesterday evening, Friday, which targeted the Masyaf area in the Hama countryside.
Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha said that the Israeli raids “reveal once again the truth of this entity and its criminality, which poses a threat to Palestine’s land and people, and to all our nation in its security and stability,” according to what Palestinian media reported.
Israeli warplanes targeted with missiles several points in the Masyaf area in central Syria, during which 4 soldiers and one civilian were killed, 7 others were wounded, including a child, and material losses occurred, according to the official SANA news agency.
The agency quoted a military source as saying that Israel “carried out an air aggression with missiles from the direction of the Mediterranean, west of Baniyas, targeting some points in the central region,” noting that “the number of Israeli missiles in the airspace of Masyaf.”
The agency added that the air defenses “dropped most of these missiles, and some of them landed in agricultural lands and caused damage to people’s property in Masyaf countryside.”
The movement of “Hamas” expresses its condemnation, on a continuous basis, of the raids launched by Israel on Syrian territory.

A few days ago, a member of the Hamas political bureau, Musa Abu Marzouk, said that the file of relations with Syria was “complicated”, expressing “hope for changes” that would allow them to resume in the future, and pointed out that “the basis is our relationship with our Palestinian people who are in Syria, and nothing but that is the agenda.”
In early 2021, press reports spoke of mediation efforts led by Iran and Hezbollah to restore relations between Hamas and Syria.
