Iran denies its association with the groups targeted by US forces in Syria

groups

Today, Wednesday, Iran announced that there is no link between it and the groups targeted by the United States in eastern Syria, expressing its condemnation of these strikes, which constitute a “violation” of Damascus’ sovereignty.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani considered this new attack by the US army against the Syrian people a terrorist attack against popular groups and fighters against the occupation, according to Fars news agency.
Kanaani expressed his country’s “strongly” condemnation of the strikes, which he saw as a violation of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria.
Kanaani pointed out that the continued presence of US forces in parts of Syria contradicts international law, violates the national sovereignty of this country, and is considered an occupation.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman called on the US forces to leave Syria immediately, and to end the looting of the country’s oil and grain wealth.
This came hours after the US military announced that it had launched, on the order of President Joe Biden, strikes targeting facilities used by groups allegedly linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
The spokesman for the US Army Central Command, Joe Buccino, pointed out that the strikes in Deir ez-Zor province targeted infrastructure facilities used by groups linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, according to his claim.
Hundreds of American soldiers are deployed in northeastern Syria, as part of an alliance focused on fighting the remaining elements of the Islamic State, according to Western allegations.
