On Sunday evening, the Syrian air defenses confronted hostile targets in the skies of the coastal Tartus governorate, in conjunction with another aggression targeting the vicinity of the capital, Damascus, which led to the death of three soldiers.
The Syrian news agency “SANA” reported that the Syrian air defenses had intercepted “enemy targets” in the sky of Tartus, and in the airspace of the Qalamoun mountain range near the Lebanese border.
A Syrian military source stated that, at approximately 20:50 this evening, the “Israeli enemy” carried out an air aggression with rockets, from the direction southeast of Beirut, targeting some points in the Damascus countryside.
The source indicated that this coincided with another aggression from the direction of the sea, targeting some points south of Tartus
governorate, indicating that the air defense media confronted the aggression’s missiles and shot down some of them.
The source pointed out that the aggression led to the death of three soldiers, the wounding of three others, and the infliction of some material losses.
And two people were injured, last Friday, as a result of an Israeli bombardment targeting the Hamidiya area in the Syrian countryside of Quneitra, at the border with the occupied Syrian Golan.
The Israeli forces targeted, with military tank shells, the Al-Hamidiyah area in the Quneitra countryside on the border with the Golan Heights, as a result of which two people were injured, whose identities were not known.
The Israeli bombardment, whether artillery in the border areas, or through the occupation’s fighters in the Syrian depth, has been repeated over the past years, since the beginning of the crisis in the country in 2011.
Last July, the Israeli occupation launched an air raid targeting military sites in the countryside of Damascus, which resulted in loss of life and equipment.
Last June, Israeli strikes on Damascus International Airport made the airport’s runways unusable for several weeks.
