It was active and trained in Syria…the arrest of a cell that planned terrorist activities in Egypt

Today, Friday, Egyptian media sources reported that the local authorities arrested 11 suspects, who formed a terrorist cell in Egypt affiliated with ISIS in Syria.
Investigations revealed that the first accused, Amr Ahmed, had embraced the takfiri ideas of the ISIS group based on the infidelity of the ruler and the legitimacy of revolt against him, and the necessity of fighting him and members of the armed forces and the police on the pretext of not applying Islamic Sharia, according to the “Cairo 24” website.

Investigations revealed that the accused had received assignments to establish a cluster cell in the country, which would carry out hostile acts with the aim of overthrowing the state, affecting its economic and social components, and harming national unity and social peace.

The investigations added that in the context of rehabilitating the cell members to achieve the group’s goals, a program was prepared for them, in which they depended on preparing them intellectually by holding organizational meetings, studying takfiri ideas and trends, and reading them through websites.

The fighting in Syria

The program also included enrolling them in the fighting fields of the State of Syria in the camps of armed groups there, to receive military training on how to use firearms, guerrilla warfare, cities and streets, preparing and manufacturing explosive devices and how to use them.

Trial date

The Cairo Court of Appeal set August 13, the first session of the trial of the accused, against the background of accusing them of forming a terrorist cell in the country.
