government directives
The committee’s decision came in the wake of the monthly meeting held by the Petroleum Derivatives Pricing Committee at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jordan, and in implementation of the government’s directives to raise the prices of petroleum derivatives in line with the policy of gradually lifting subsidies.
The fuel prices in Jordan, which are scheduled to be implemented, during the period from 1 to 31 July, are as follows:
Raising the price of 90 octane gasoline from 920 fils to 955 fils per liter.
Raising the price of octane 95 gasoline from 1180 fils to 1240 fils per liter.
Raising the price of diesel from 685 fils to 720 fils per liter.
Raising the price of kerosene from 685 fils to 720 fils per liter.
The price of gas cylinders – liquefied petroleum gas – is stable at 7 dinars.
Oil price hike
The committee indicated that the average price of Brent crude in the current month of June rose to 123.9 dollars a barrel, compared to 112.7 dollars recorded in last May, an increase of about 10%.
Since the beginning of last May, the Jordanian government has implemented monthly increases in gasoline prices in Jordan, in an attempt to reduce the energy bill, which has doubled this year, with the increase in oil prices and record levels.
