Moscow shows “anger” in anticipation of any aggression: Russian air maneuvers on the border strip with Turkey

Opposition websites and Kurdish agencies said that the Russian Air Force conducted air maneuvers that took place from Qamishli Airport in Al-Hasakah Governorate and extended to the Turkish border strip.
These maneuvers come at a time of escalating tension in the regions of north and northeastern Syria, against the backdrop of Turkish threats to launch aggression against the region.
The sources added that the Russian maneuvers were launched from Qamishli Airport in the province through the flight of Russian warplanes and helicopters, which were limited to aerial demonstration over the areas adjacent to the cities of Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad, which are controlled by factions of the so-called “National Army” of Turkey.
The sources indicated that this is the first time that Russian warplanes conduct military maneuvers in the eastern Euphrates region.
The same sources had talked about Russia starting to convert part of Qamishli International Airport into an air base for its forces, coinciding with the landing of the first Russian warplane at the airport a few days ago.
The Syrian army had strengthened its presence in the area, especially in Tal Rifaat, which is expected to be covered by the Turkish aggression if it occurs, while Damascus has threatened that it will do what is guaranteed by its right and international law, to repel the Turkish aggression on Syrian territory.
