America reprimands the “SDF”: Raising Ocalan’s photos is a red line

The deputy US envoy expressed his country’s anger at the increasing manifestations of the flags of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and photos of its leader, Abdullah Ocalan, in demonstrations organized by the “Self-Administration” in its areas of control recently.
More than 10,000 people from the cities and towns of Al-Hasakah governorate participated in a march organized by the “Autonomous Administration” entitled “The March of Dignity” in the middle of this month in the city of Qamishli, condemning the Turkish attacks on the PKK sites in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
An opposition website quoted its sources as saying that “the deputy US special envoy to Syria, David Brownstein, conveyed to the leader of the SDF, Mazloum Abdi, a strongly-worded message and the US administration’s resentment over the increasing public support for the PKK in the “autonomous administration areas” and raising Ocalan’s pictures in demonstrations and rallies.”
The source explained that “the US administration, through its envoy, warned the SDF and the Autonomous Administration of the repercussions of the continued dominance of the PKK cadres on power and the direction of the Autonomous Administration in accordance with the policies and ideology of the PKK.”
The source pointed out that “the US deputy envoy confirmed that the continuation of this policy will expose the Autonomous Administration areas to great dangers, especially since Turkey publicly and constantly expresses its fears of the influence of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party on its borders with Syria.”
According to the site’s sources, the American official demanded, “The commander of the SDF demanded that the Autonomous Administration stop the manifestations of support and dependence on the Kurdistan workers, especially with the imminent start of the resumption of Kurdish-Kurdish negotiations, which is considered the removal of PKK cadres from the region as the most important condition of the Kurdish National Council to accept the agreement and participate in the Autonomous Administration.”
This march comes at a time when the United States of America is seeking to weaken the control of the PKK cadres over the areas of northeastern Syria, by sponsoring negotiations between the Democratic Union Party and its allies and the opposition Kurdish National Council, with the aim of involving the latter in the Autonomous Administration amid leaking information about the existence of more than one line. Within the Autonomous Administration, there is a direct follower of Qandil, and another that seeks to move according to the political and military strategy that America is drawing for the region.
