Once again, in light of the election results… Lebanon is facing a tense scene based on political alignment… and the stage needs “political wisdom”

Independent candidate Mustafa Alloush told “Hashtag” that, in comparison to the results of the parliamentary elections, it is still too early to talk about reforms. In addition to financial issues and the different economic situation on it, unless there are previously agreed-upon solutions at the international level.
MP Mustafa Alloush was nominated; Who was the deputy head of the party in the city of Tripoli, one of Hariri’s strongholds in northern Lebanon, challenged the decision to boycott the elections launched by former Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
Alloush said in this regard that the Future Movement boycotted the elections by a personal decision of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, without discussing it with the movement’s leadership; except casually and briefly, it was understood as an absolute boycott of even the participation in the suffrage.”
Alloush attributed the declared reason for the boycott to Al-Mustaqbal’s refusal to give a legitimate cover to the system that controls Lebanon, but in return he saw that “in logic, not participating in the elections would have confirmed the system’s sustainability.”
Alloush, who lost the elections to the candidate Ihab Matar, an expatriate from Australia, considered that “if the Future Movement had participated with the March 14 forces and the opposition, the profit for these forces would have increased at the expense of Hezbollah’s allies.”
Alloush justified his resignation from the deputy head of the movement, due to his disagreement with the decision of his leader, and his conviction that the vacuum would benefit Hezbollah and thus increase its control over Lebanon.
Alloush stressed that there is no plan for the movement in the next stage, and new political forces will fill the void to lead the next stage.
For his part, political analyst Faisal Abdel-Sater considered that the general reading of the results of Lebanon’s 2022 elections presented surprises of a different nature, resulting from a lack of accurate reading by some of the main Lebanese parties and forces of the nature of alliances and the general reality of the Lebanese voter, who was affected by the economic conditions without paying attention to the importance of participation The polling process, because the voter turnout did not exceed 42%, while the last session of 2018 reached 48%.
Abdel-Sater added in statements to “Hashtag” that the participation rate, and its results, indicate that trust between the Lebanese voter and some parties has been shaken recently; Although the results proved that some parties are still strong.
In his question about the possibility of changing the political structure in the Lebanese scene, Abdel-Sater pointed out that the scene has changed a little. Although his features have not yet appeared, the victory is evident in the Forces Party and Ashraf Rifi, the candidate in Tripoli, who won despite the low voter turnout in the governorate. His victory was facilitated by the Future Movement’s boycott of the parliamentary elections.
He added that changing the political structure needs data and time in order to rule on the ground.
Abdel-Sater stresses, that it is difficult to predict whether Ashraf Rifi will take Saad Hariri’s place; This requires the elected representatives to name the person who will form the government, although I exclude that completely; Because a confrontational figure like Ashraf Rifi will not be the subject of the consensus of the majority.
Abdel-Sater believes that Lebanon is coming to a stage of complexities and major problems according to the results of the elections, especially that the campaign and slogans adopted by Arab and European capitals against Hezbollah’s weapons did not give a result, because the party obtained the highest percentage of electoral votes; Rather, his parliamentary seats directly increased, maintaining 27 “Shiite” seats out of 27, and this is the most important victory because it is related to what is called in Lebanon the “constitutional charter” that Amal and Hezbollah were able to represent a certain sect in the parliamentary symposium, and therefore No resolution will pass without the approval of these seats.
Abdel-Sater concluded that the next stage is complicated, so it is a stage that needs dialogue and political wisdom to protect Lebanon in light of the fiery statements from some political parties towards the other.
