Ebrahim Raisi elected president of Iran instead of Rouhani

Today, Saturday, the Iranian authorities announced that the candidate, Ibrahim Raisi, who served as head of the country’s judiciary, had won the 13th presidential election.
According to the Iranian Ministry of Interior, Raisi received more than 17 million and 800,000 votes in the preliminary results of the presidential elections, while candidate Abdolnaser Hemmati received two million and more than 400,000 votes, while candidate Mohsen Rezaei received about 3 million and 300,000 votes, and occupied Amir-Hossein Ghazizadeh Hashemi ranked fourth with one million votes.
The Iranian Ministry of Interior stated that 28 million and 500 thousand votes were registered in the presidential elections.
In turn, the head of the Elections Committee, Jamal Araf, made it clear that he would announce the preliminary results of the presidential elections soon, according to the Al-Mayadeen channel website.
The Iranian candidates had congratulated Ibrahim Raisi for his victory in the presidential elections before the official results were released, and President Hassan Rouhani had congratulated the Iranian people and said he was waiting to congratulate Raisi until the official results were announced.
On Friday morning, the polling process began to elect the new president in Iran, and polling stations were opened to more than 59 million Iranians who are entitled to vote, to participate in the 13th round of the presidential elections, noting that the polls closed at 2 am on Saturday after an extension The voting period is three times due to crowding and the intensity of popular participation in the elections.
