The Damascus Governorate issued the executive mechanism related to the registration of dogs, provided that registration cards are granted to the private dog in which the owner’s name, type, color and registered number is mentioned, through an application submitted to the Directorate of Health Affairs.
According to the decision, a file is created that includes data related to the dog and its owner, and (financial receipts) are delivered from the Directorate of Financial Affairs to the Directorate of Health Affairs, through which the required fee is duly filled.
According to the Syrian newspaper, Al-Watan, it will provide the elements of the common diseases control agency with documents that will be printed and approved later in order to seize the dogs that have not been registered and pay the fees required for their breeding.
In the event that the dog is sold to another owner, the dog’s registered number is written off and a new registered number is given according to the previously mentioned procedures. Also, when dogs are caught that have not been licensed and paid their fees, they are detained at the zoo, and if their owners are reviewed, the fee is collected double with the expense of imprisonment and in the absence of Owners’ review The seized dogs are sold as assets through the Directorate of Parks and the Directorate of Financial Affairs.
Under the decision, the Director of Health Affairs is authorized to sign the dog registration card, and the cost of each plastic card for the registered dog is set at 5,000 SYP only (includes the price of the card and printing).
A member of the Executive Office in the Damascus Governorate, Faisal Sorour, indicated that the dog registration mechanism has been started, so that each dog has a record that includes its number and color in an orderly manner.
