Returning to schools increases the transportation crisis: the governorate monitors and the school administrations “request parents to deliver their children”!

A member of the Executive Office in the Damascus Governorate for the Transport and Communications Sector, Mazen Dabbas, confirmed the return of some manifestations of congestion after the beginning of the school year.

In an exclusive statement to “Hashtag”, Dabbas said,

There are continuous patrols to monitor traffic, stressing that “the first violation of the vehicle is impounding it, and if the violation is repeated, the driver is prevented from obtaining subsidized fuel.”

“Some private schools and universities are contracting with internal transport buses instead of investing, which causes a shortage in the number of buses and buses operating on some lines, and thus increases congestion,” Dabbas explained.

Dabbas called on the Ministry of Education to issue a special circular obligating private schools to abide by their own means of transportation in accordance with the licenses they obtained.

With the beginning of the school year, the transportation crisis worsened day after day, and many citizens attributed the causes of this crisis to the absence of effective control over the work of public transportation, especially minibuses. “make it worse”.

In addition to the absence of minibuses and buses from work, many parents of students who are forced to register their children there complained of the high prices requested by microbus drivers in order to deliver students to their schools, and in some cases reached the amount of 60,000 pounds per student as a delivery fare from Al-Baramkeh to Mezzeh, and 50,000 from Daf AL-Shouk to Bab Touma, according to the complaints received by the hashtag.

When the private school administrations were asked about the cause of this problem, they cited the difficulty of contracting with the owners of the minibuses who ask for large sums that may not be approved by the students’ families, so they left the solution to the parents “request parents to deliver their children”!
