Russia announces the formation of its delegation to monitor the presidential elections in Syria

 

The head of the International Affairs Committee of the Council of the Russian Federation, Grigory Karasin, said that the council formed a delegation of observers headed by Senator Sergey Muratov to monitor the presidential elections in Syria.
“A delegation of the Federation Council was formed to participate in monitoring the presidential elections in Syria”, Karasin added.
According to Karasin, the delegation will include 4 members of the Federation Council, namely Sergey Muratov, who will lead the delegation, Vadim Dengin, Oleg Seleznev, as well as advisor to The International Committee work body Andrei Kulenko.
Karasin added that the delegation of observers will also include representatives of the Russian Social Council: Maxim Grigoriev and Mikhail Anishkin.
Presidential elections will be held in Syria on May 26, while Syrians abroad cast their votes on Thursday, May 20.
