The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Amr Salem said that his ministry is a service ministry par excellence, and it is the closest to the citizen and meets his daily needs, according to his description.
Salem added during the first work meeting of the new year that this matter carries a double responsibility for the ministry’s workers, as it is the duty of workers in all directorates and institutions to double the effort towards the citizen and to stay away from routine and bureaucracy that impede the provision of services to him in the best way.
The minister also stressed that the relationship between the assistant minister and his directorates and the directorates themselves is directly reflected in the relationship with the citizen and the facilitation of work procedures, and for this reason the assistants and directors are selected according to objective and modern foundations and criteria in order to develop work and put the citizen’s service in the first place, indicating the necessity of conducting (Feed back) to find out the areas of deficiencies, address them, and develop the services provided to the citizen, as he put it.
Salem confirmed at the end of the meeting that the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection begins the new year with a modern work plan and new cadres, bearing in mind the service of the citizen in deed and in word.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection is one of the ministries that receive criticism and objections from citizens, especially about high prices, lack of oversight and conflicting decisions that many Syrians see as not working in their favor.
