Syrian actress Solaf Fawakherji refused to disclose a question to the journalist Rabaa Al-Zayat about her true religion, during her hosting of the “Sho Al-Qessa” program presented by Al-Zayat on the Syrian “Lana” channel, owned by businessman Samer Fouz.
Solaf Fawakherji said in response to the question: “Since we were young, my mother always told us that if someone asked you what your religion is, say I am Syrian.”
Solaf revealed that her mother “was accompanying us to the church and mosque and telling us that these are the houses of God, and for a certain period we did not know what our religions were.
I learned to belong to Syria with all its sects and religions, celebrate, care and respect everyone and with everyone, I lived them all with my history.
The Syrian artist explained: “I respect any religion as long as it has morals. I go to the mosque and the church.”
“Are you a Muslim or a Christian?” Al-Zayat asked her, “People want to know this, but God wants us to deal with morals. God is the conscience and beauty. God did not say go to the mosque, church or Buddhist temple,” she said.
“Is there heaven and hell?” The presenter of the program asked her, “There is no punishment in the Hereafter, only Paradise. God is too beautiful and kinder than to burn His servants, so there is no fire, and I reject takfiri. I believe in the saying that you do not insult a god that you do not worship, I respect those who believe even in an idea,” Fawakherji replied.
Fawakherji had shocked her followers a few days ago when she announced her separation from her husband, artist Wael Ramadan, through her personal account on “Instagram”, stressing that their love would last even after their divorce.
