The Director of Public Relations at the General Organization of Syrian Airlines, Abdul Aziz Karbouj, told “Hashtag” that the number of stations that Syrian Airlines is currently reaching is only 10.
And he indicated that soon the number of stations will increase within a plan that the Corporation will announce later.
Karbouj revealed to “Hashtag” that the number of the aircraft fleet will increase soon in the corporation, in addition to securing the parts and engines to operate the suspended aircraft.
Acceptable Prices
Karbouj pointed out that the company’s profits have increased since last year and reached 400%, due to the increase in the number of passengers and freight, and the permanent filling of planes, in addition to the fact that the prices of the cards are acceptable and cover the costs.
He indicated that until the middle of this year, things are very promising, and the revenues are better than last year.
difficulties
As for the most prominent difficulties that Syrian air transport suffers from, Karbouj explained that they are manifested in the difficulty of securing planes, parts, or engines for the unemployed. Especially since its spare parts are American or European, and it is not possible to obtain them from this source, due to the imposed conditions of siege and embargo.
The number of working ones
Kreug indicated that the number of aircraft currently operating in the corporation is four, two of which are Airbus 340, which are large and wide, and can accommodate about three hundred passengers, and two are Airbus 320, which can accommodate about 165 passengers.
Karbouj pointed out that the number of non-operating aircraft is four and they need spare parts and engines, hoping to operate them as soon as possible.

It is reported that at the beginning of this year, on 11/1/2022, the Air Transport Workers’ Union in the Damascus Workers Union held its annual conference, and the most prominent interventions of the members of the conference related to the Syrian Airlines Corporation were the necessity of providing the corporation with modern aircraft, reconstructing aircraft and their engines for investment, and expediting the maintenance of “Hangar” buildings.
Maintenance of aircraft and engine workshop, modernization of the Corporation’s mechanisms, including comprehensive insurance, increasing repair allocations, securing equipment needed to service aircraft, and securing a new kitchen for the Corporation.
Maintaining competencies
Filling the shortage of manpower in various specializations, implementing the internal and external training plan set by the departments, increasing work compensation to maintain competencies and preventing their leakage, and disbursing aviation compensation according to the current salary.
And granting air hospitality members a cash allowance for their meals on the plane, an increase in the cash allowance for flying knees for internal and external overnight hours, finding a solution to the problem of their dress and finding a solution to the problem of suspended promotions for some hospitality elements.
