The Interim Committee of the Football Association confirmed its adherence to the coach of our national team, Nizar Mahrous, despite the poor performance of the team and its achievement of two points out of 15 possible points.
The Interim Committee denied rumors on social media that the player Muhammad Othman was punished by depriving him of representing our national team for a period of six months.
And the head of the committee, Nabil Al-Sibai, indicated to the media that the decision will be made after the return of our team’s mission to Damascus and reviewing the report, and then issuing the final decision regarding this act by the player.
Al-Sibai also pointed out that there is no truth to what is being circulated about the dismissal or resignation of coach Nizar Mahrous after the Iran match, but the committee is committed to the coach and there is no decision so far.
And there were many press leaks that Iran’s match on Tuesday will be the last for the national team’s technical staff, led by Mahrous, regardless of its outcome.
Mahrous was criticized for the team’s lackluster performance that did not reflect any change or development at a time when the Syrians were waiting for a different image, especially after the notorious period of Nabil Maaloul.
