Media websites reported that Turkey is preparing 2,000 fighters of the Syrian opposition factions, to be sent to Afghanistan, as a down payment when needed, in return for a salary of 3,000 US dollars.
The websites circulated news about Turkish preparations for 2,000 Syrian mercenaries, which it is training to send to Afghanistan, quoting the Al-Furat Media Center, which obtained its information from leaders of the Syrian opposition.
According to opposition sources, “a meeting was held between officers of the Turkish intelligence service (MIT) and leaders of the Syrian opposition factions to prepare for sending Syrian opposition fighters to Afghanistan.”
According to the information, “the Turkish intelligence asked the leaders of the factions that attended the meeting to prepare 2,000 fighters as a first batch to send them to Afghanistan when needed.”
The source revealed that “the faction leaders asked for $3,000 as a monthly salary for each element in exchange for traveling to fight in Afghanistan.”
The meeting, which took place in the Hawar Kilis region in Turkey, on the 24th of last month, June, was attended by leaders from the opposition, who are, according to RT:
1- Saif Abu Bakr, commander of the Hamzat Division.
2- Thaer Maarouf, commander of the Samarkand Brigade
3- Hussein Khairy from Suqur Al-Shamal Brigade.
4- Fahim Issa, commander of the Sultan Murad Division.
5- Muhammad Al-Jassem, nicknamed Abu Amsha, commander of the Suleiman Shah Brigade.
6- Yasser Abdel Rahim, commander of the Majd Corps.
