Under the auspices of the central leadership of the Baath Party.. a French delegation in Damascus “to inform it of the great Syrian response to the most heinous wars.”

Today, Monday, a French delegation that includes intellectuals, researchers and journalists will arrive in Damascus.
The visit will continue until the 13th of this month. The first meeting and open dialogue with the French delegation is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, under the title “The war on Syria through French eyes.”
Al-Watan newspaper said that during the visit, the delegation will hold “meetings with political leaders and literary, media and popular events” and participate in seminars and dialogues dealing with “the war on Syria” in Damascus, Aleppo, Latakia, Aleppo, Sweida and Daraa.
The newspaper pointed out that the visit came at the invitation of the “Arab Writers Union and under the auspices of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party.”
It quoted the visit’s coordinator, Adnan Azzam, as saying that “the visit comes from our firm position in the trench of the homeland, and what this holds us of the sacred responsibility as patriotic intellectuals to support our army and leadership in the fateful battle we are waging,” as he put it.
Azzam pointed out that the delegation includes 8 personalities “working in the political, intellectual, research, economic and media fields, which have a distinguished presence in the French arena.”

In a statement to the newspaper, Mahdi Dakhlallah, a member of the central leadership of the Baath Party, said that the visit comes within the framework of the party leadership’s direction to enhance communication with various popular events in the world and in the Arab world, and this communication contributes to informing world public opinion about the reality of the situation in the country. Syria and the contents of the great Syrian response to the most heinous and most brutal wars.
