Demand for the public vaccination campaign against Corona and assurances that vaccination will continue “until after the campaign”

The Director of Communicable and Chronic Diseases at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Jamal Khamis, said that there is a great demand by citizens to receive vaccination against the Corona virus in various governorates, through the national vaccination campaign launched by the Ministry of Health last Sunday, which will continue until the 16th of this month.
Khamis confirmed in exclusive statements to “Hashtag”,
Vaccines are administered through 200 health centers and hospitals, and 177 teams distributed at fixed points, with about 2,000 health workers participating.
And the Director of Communicable and Chronic Diseases at the Ministry of Health indicated that the vaccine has undergone practical experiments before it is approved. .
The campaign targets citizens over the age of 18 in various governorates, with the exception of pregnant and lactating women, those with severe illness, or those who have allergies from a previous vaccine dose, according to a previous statement by the ministry.
Khamis explained that it is now possible to register to receive the vaccine through the special electronic platform to receive the vaccination, and then go to the center without waiting for the appointment message, in addition to the registered people who have not yet received the message.
He stressed the continuation of work and providing the vaccine even after the campaign ends in all the opened centers with the transmission of messages to encourage all citizens to take it, in order to reach broad immunity by taking the vaccine from the largest possible number of members of the local community over 18 years, especially the high-risk group. Those suffering from chronic diseases that have priority to take the vaccine in general.
The Ministry of Health recorded 137 new infections with the Corona virus, bringing the total number to 29,358, the recovery of 30 of the registered cases, bringing the total number to 22,713, and the death of 5 of the recorded infections, bringing the total number to 2071.
