Yaroub Alessa sends an “open letter” to the “intelligence services” about the kidnapped child, Fawaz Al-Qutaifan

Yaroub Alessa

The Syrian writer and journalist, Yaroub Alessa, addressed what he described as an “open letter to the Syrian intelligence.”
Alessa wrote a post on his Facebook account, in which he said: “Our son Fawaz Qutaifan is still captive, the kidnappers’ deadline expired yesterday, Wednesday, the ransom amount they requested is with his family, and our hearts are attached to him.”
“You can convince many that you do not know where he is and who kidnapped him, but you will not be able to convince me. I am the one who asked him one of your branches: What is your relationship with so-and-so? The man who asked me for a match to light his pipe, and we talked for a few minutes about the mixture of pipe tobacco and the ugliness of the lighter. The case was that that talk took place in a smoking break at a conference of an intellectual nature in Zurich held years ago,” he added.
Yaroub Alessa added in his post that the issue of the kidnapped child represents a golden opportunity for the intelligence services, “For every person, for every institution, and for every intelligence branch, there is a balance of good deeds, if it is not with God, then with humans, the scale has to tip one way or the other, and yours’ left is tons, and its right is empty,” he said.
Fawaz Qutaifan is your golden opportunity to put on your scale a few “good deeds” that may benefit you on the Day of Resurrection, and may benefit you, firstly, and make you good of our point of view.”
Alessa presented the “intelligence services” with what he called a deal, that is “liberate the child Fawaz and arrest his kidnappers, then I will guarantee that a hundred thousand Syrians, half of them from abroad, will thank you. For me personally, there is no problem if you extend my restriction with a “travel ban” for another five years, If you free Fawaz, I will be convinced that my restriction and tens of thousands of others were due to your keen interest in “the security of the homeland,” as stated in Alessa’s publication.
