Al-Assad in Aleppo to put the final touches on the rehabilitation of the thermal power plant

Yesterday, Thursday, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad visited the Aleppo thermal station with experts, workers and technicians, to witness with them the launch of the work of the fifth group of the station after its rehabilitation.

Al-Assad was briefed on the rehabilitation work in the remaining four generating sets, which will be put into service after the completion of repair and reconstruction work, according to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic.

Al-Assad described the station’s staff as “sons of the field”, and expressed to them his pride in their efforts, dedication and sincerity, indicating that Aleppo governorate suffered more from terrorism and sabotage than other governorates.
The biggest beneficiary
Al-Assad stressed that Aleppo has the right to be the biggest beneficiary of the repair of the station, which will generate about 200 megawatts to supply the province with electricity.

Al-Assad considered that the workers of Syria are the second line on the front, which reconstructs what was destroyed by terrorism and provides effort, work and martyrs, and that rehabilitation work confirms the fall of obstacles and difficulties when faced with will and determination.

President al-Assad was accompanied on his visit to the thermal station by the Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, the Minister of Electricity Ghassan Al-Zamil, and the Governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab.
Aleppo Thermal Station is considered one of the most important stations responsible for supplying Syria with electric power, as it stopped working permanently as a result of the US bombing of it in 2015, before rehabilitating it began.
