The directorate stated in a statement that five members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) were killed in a bombing by a Turkish drone, near the entrance to al-Sham, west of Mosul, according to “Sputnik”.

The directorate indicated that its information indicates that the bombing targeted a car carrying five PKK militants, and that five gunmen were killed, including a woman.
Turkish operation
On April 18, Turkey launched the “claw-lock” operation against the strongholds of the “PKK” in the areas (Matina, Zab and Afshin-Basian) in northern Iraq.

Earlier, the Kurdish politician, “Mohammed Amin Benjoni,” accused Turkey of preparing to invade the Iraqi cities of Mosul and Kirkuk, during a comprehensive operation that is expected to begin in 2023.
Benjoni made it clear that the recent military operation launched by Turkey in northern Iraq is a preparation for the (potential) comprehensive operation announced by the Turkish President to invade Kurdistan.
Turkey has recently launched a military operation in northern Iraq under the pretext of fighting the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The Iraqi government condemned that operation, stressing that it threatens the country’s security and politics.
