In continuation of the raids and arbitrary arrests, “SDF” kidnapped 16 journalists in eastern Syria

Today, Sunday, the “YPG” organization of the Syrian Democratic Forces kidnapped 16 local media workers, including two women, in the province of Raqqa, eastern Syria.
The so-called Syrian Network for Human Rights clarified in a statement that the Syrian Democratic Forces, which are dominated by the YPG, kidnapped workers in the local media.
According to the information, the media professionals work for several media agencies and local institutions, and the detention took place through the intelligence service of the Syrian Democratic Forces, and they were charged with espionage.
Frequent kidnappings
And last February, the “SDF” kidnapped Sabri Fihri, a correspondent for “Ark News” website, in the city of Qamishli, who is known to be close to the Syrian Kurdish National Council, and Bavir Mulla Ahmed, an employee at Yekiti Media, after their home was raided.

Last May, the villages and towns of eastern Syria’s governorates witnessed a state of popular tension, after demonstrations came out denouncing the practices of the US army and the “SDF” against the members of Arab tribes.
Local sources reported that a number of SDF military checkpoints were burned amid popular fears of reprisals.

A group of notables from the countryside of Deir Ezzor province went earlier to the commander of the so-called “Deir Ezzor Military Council” of the “SDF” to negotiate and end the state of tension.
The sources indicated that the trend to negotiate comes in light of the great alertness of the “SDF” militants backed by the forces of the American coalition, with intensive flight of its warplanes
