In light of the large increase in the prices of chalets and tourist resorts compared to the income of the citizen, access to the sea has become a dream for a large group of Syrians, which prompted them to visit swimming pools and summer farms in Damascus and its countryside.
However, the latter is not better off in terms of its prices, which are now beyond the ability of most Syrians who are plunged firmly to the bottom of poverty, which prompts them to deceive and gather more than one family to divide the costs.
Farm wages are high
The farms are considered a vacation project that extends from one to two days at the end of the week, and today more than one family, usually relatives, participates in it, so that the cost is low.
The cost of renting farms varies according to the area, service, and region. The daily wage without a mansion in Madaya ranged between 100-150 thousand Syrian pounds, and with a manama it rises to 200 or 250 thousand pounds.
While the wages of farms in general without sleeping quarters for one day may reach 200 thousand pounds, depending on the region, such as Yafour, and increase with the number of days.
In Jdeidet Artouz and Sahnaya, prices start from 50 thousand pounds and rise according to farm services.
The pools keep away from visitors
In previous years, swimming pools were an option available to most Syrians, but today they are beyond the reach of many.
“Hashtag” reporter toured a number of swimming pools in Damascus, the prices between 5000 and 15000 SP each.
Some swimming pools began to set an entry ticket during weekdays at a price, and others at a high price during the holidays.
In addition, swimming pools require the use of swimming equipment such as sunglasses and special clothing.
A number of swimming pool goers in Damascus complain about unclean water, which causes many diseases, calling for the necessity of monitoring sterilization and water quality.
It is noteworthy that most of these swimming pools prevent the entry of food and water to force citizens to order from the pool buffet as an exploitative factor that increases the income of these swimming pools and increases the burden on the citizen.
