This morning, Monday, Russian media sources reported the arrival of military forces belonging to the Russian Army’s Paratroopers Division to northeastern Syria.
Transfer to Qamishli
The “Russian Range” page on the Telegram platform published information about Russia’s transfer of the Paratroopers Division to the Qamishli region in Syria.
The page attached the information with private photos obtained by it, and said in this regard: “Russian military paratroopers have arrived in the Syrian region of Qamishli.”
aerial activity
The page added: “The atmosphere in that region witnessed air activity, through the landing of Russian military transport planes, which transported more than 500 Russian paratroopers.”
Confrontation with Turkey
And the page continued: “With the aim of the arrival of this military division to confront the armed gangs backed by Turkey, which announced earlier the launch of a military operation in northern Syria.”
Russian forces are working to reduce the high escalation along the Syrian-Turkish border.
This comes after the successive statements of the Turkish leadership, to launch a military operation against the positions of the “SDF” forces loyal to the US army.
safe area
The military operation that the Turkish army intends to implement in northern Syria includes establishing a buffer zone deep in Syrian territory.
The Turkish National Security Council issued a statement on the military operations, amid an escalation that has recently intensified by declaring the establishment of a “safe zone” in Syria.
The Council indicated that the ongoing military operations and those that will be carried out on the southern borders are necessary for Turkey’s national security and do not target neighboring countries, as it claimed.
American warning
The US State Department expressed concern over Turkish statements regarding launching a military operation in northern Syria, warning of the consequences of that operation.
The US State Department stressed that such an escalation would endanger the lives of American soldiers deployed in the region.
